I visited the “Anti -Crisis” Exhibition situated in La Noria at the weekend. Various local businesses selling what seemed to be reasonably priced items. I was introduced to Xavier Gavira, the head of the PSOE (Socialists) in Vejer, a charming and erudite man who learned English working as a shop assistant in Oxford Circus. He hopes to become “Mayor” in just over 3 year’s time. We talked of the need to encourage the growth of new businesses in the area to give people a chance of work and to tackle unemployment. I enjoyed a beer a tapas and the conversation and walked home.
